I have my vehicle set to Australian standards in the Nanocom.

So I've been playing with the Nanocom for my Discovery 2a 2003 V8 and noticed this option in the Nanocom manual: https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/uploads/downloads/Discovery II Valeo BCU ECU Guide.pdf

Electric Front window: The BCU can be programmed to disable operation of the front windows to conform to differing market legislative requirements. Available options are:
(1) The front windows will be disabled 44 seconds after the driver door is opened (DRIVER CANCEL).
(2) The front windows will not be disabled (NO CANCEL).
(3) The front windows will be disabled when the ignition is turned off (ALL CANCEL).
Rear windows sunroof: Although the rear windows and sunroof are controlled by a hard-wired circuit, the rear windows and sunroof ECU are enabled by the BCU. This allows programming of the BCU to disable these outputs to conform to differing market
legislative requirements. Available options are:
(1) The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled 44 seconds after the driver door is opened (DRIVER).
(2) The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled 44 seconds after any door is opened (NO CANCEL).
(3) The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled when the ignition is turned off (ALL CANCEL).

I tried it and here's what actually happens:

(1) DRIVER CANCEL: After removing the key, the windows will be disabled instantly when the driver's door is opened. There's no 44 second grace period.

(2) NO CANCEL: After removing the key, the windows will be disabled when any door is opened. No 44 second grace period.

(3) ALL CANCEL: The windows will be disabled as soon as the key is removed. No grace period.

My questions are:

Is there any way to actually get this to work as intended? Is there something wrong with my BCU?

I want to:
Control the windows after removing the key from the ignition AND for 44 seconds after opening a door as the manual describes.

P.S. I checked the RAVE D2 workshop manual and it says something different which is also not true in my case:
Electric front windows
Driver cancel: The front windows will be disabled 44 seconds after the driver's door is opened.
All cancel: The front windows will be disabled 44 seconds after any door is opened.
No cancel: The front windows will be disabled when the ignition is turned off.
Rear windows and sunroof
Driver cancel: The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled 44 seconds after the driver's door is opened.
All cancel: The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled 44 seconds after any door is opened.
No cancel: The rear windows and sunroof will be disabled when the ignition switch is turned off.

After you set it to "driver cancel" did you save that setting turned ign off and unplugged nanocom after 60 seconds or how did you "play" with it? then after reconnection did you see that setting saved in the BCU? ... if the setting was saved and no joy try with European standard, mines are working with that delay(i didnt clock up the delay to see if it's exacty 44 seconds or not) but in reality the delay starts when the ignition is turned off regardless of what you do with the doors cos the windows will be disabled anyway when the time elapsed

I didn't do the 60 second thing (wasn't a prompt for that like with SLABS) but I'll try it

But it would save the setting when I'd reconnect again!

And the behavior would change as I'd flip between the modes 1/2 to 3 and back

I'll try the European standard

Does it change anything else by default when I select that?

And to confirm: you turn off ignition and you're able to mess with your windows even if someone opens a door, right?

So I did everything, tried:
- UK
- Sweden
- Norway
- US
- Unknown

And also:
1) writing new settings
2) powering down nanocom, unplugging
3) removing key for 60 seconds
4) powering car back on and trying

Also the first two settings are exactly the same: driver vs. all — I get the same behavior. The minute a door is opened with the key removed, window controls don’t work anymore.

Seems something is wrong with my BCU?

The funny thing is: I can still adjust my electric seats after the door is opened, but not windows.

What can I do to trouble shoot?
