Folks

I should have bought a Nanocom last year....looks like the weak Pound post-Brexit has pushed the prices up. I seem to remember they were about £250 but are now £313

Any UK-made alternatives to Nanocom?

Some members seem to prefer the Hawkeye, sold by Bearmach, which is a handheld device like the Nanocom. Does do very much the same these days.
Another device worth looking at is the Lynx by Britpart (yeah, the infamous blue box) which might put you off. The Lynx requires a laptop to present any results.

Both hawkeye and lynx are manufactured by omitec the builder of Testbook T4 LR main dealer tool 100% reliable tools, bearmach and britpart are only suppliers who put theyr's brand on it though nanocom is smarter and has more features.

Hi Sierrafery,

Do you know what hawkeye is like for key fob programming , EKA reading? I understood this was a weak point in the past.

Cheers

that's still weak point, no EKA reading/programming and can program only fobs with the long barcode not the short internal one, in the BCU programming area nanocom rules, nanocom has some glitches though cos it used to have a mind of it's own in relation with the BCU and SLABS which they say were fixed with the last beta firmware upgrade but i didnt try

Cheers for that SF. I will check them out.
