Hi

Took sump off today to stop ugly oil leaks from bottom of the engine.

Found a few lumps of metal that look like they belong to something else...

Engine runs fine, not going to worry about it but I wonder what they are, where they cam from and are anymore lurking. Going to stick it all back together later I think (minus the lumps of whatever).

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi James

They are about that sort of diameter. Guess they have been there for some time.

Going to stick it back together as it runs nice, dont think there is anything else floating around in there.

Cheers

You want to pull the rocker cover off and have a look see, if they are missing and haven't been replaced someone could have adjusted the valves to take up the gap, if so best replace them (do all). Not many car / engine manufacturers fit additional components for the sake of it, so they should be there for a reason!

save rocker wear ,but not vital by any means

Fair enough but if two have failed then the rest might not be that far behind, the less lumps of metal floating around in the sump the better
