Small prize for telling me where this goes…?

It’s a clip of some sort to hold an electrical connector. I’ve removed the engine and gearbox and transfer box from my V8 and now I’m putting it back together I can’t see where this might go…?

I thought it might be from the front cover where it would hold the connector for the camshaft sensor…. But I can’t really see where it goes.

I’m stuck. Help!

That looks similar to the 1s on the transfer box to gearbox bolt.

1 of the 1s I posted for you I believe. But with the plastic clamp pushed in from the other side.

I will have a butchers' around the front of my garage floor ornament tomorrow :).

Mine points to the rear of the car but if you fitted it facing forward it would look like it would work?

It might well be from the transfer box to gearbox bolts. I don’t have any clips on mine at the minute so I might be missing one.

Any chance you send me a close up pic of where it goes and what direction it should be in?

yep :).
There are 2 more on the back of the TB but they are flat.
I have a good look around the front but cant see anything like that.

Can I ask what you've got on your front cover at position 2 in the diagram below?

That should be a clip to hold the camshaft hall sensor, but what I have won't fit there.... but I also don't have anything that WILL fit there!

I'd love to see what that clip looks like up close.

Call off the dogs @marjon I think I'm getting closer. The clamp that goes on the front cover to hold the connector for the camshaft hall sensor (part no err6107) doesn't look like the one I have spare. It was on my front cover when I sent the engine off for machining, but it's not there when they returned it! I'll have to try and source another one from a scrapper or something.

I know there's a lot of black **** on the photo below, but you can see the hall sensor connector attached to something.... that something is my missing clip!

If v8 developments lost it can they not source a replacement?

I think my mystery bracket may bolt to the bell housing inspection cover and hold wiring for the O2 sensors in the exhaust!

I still have no bracket there either.
I have little tang’s welded to the sump either side that that connector slips on.

Tangs either side of the sump? That's where the o2 sensor connectors hang on.

Those brackets do go on bolts for the bell housing and the inspection cover depending on which side they go.

They hold the wires from the o2 sensors towards the connectors that go either side of the sump. Without them, the wire would rest atop the drive shaft and the exhaust.

Guess I am missing a few brackets after the engine change :vb-confused2: (it wasn't me i was working away)
Mine never had them and had no issue, but then the cats have been messed with a bit so who knows;).

Well, the one on the RHS I'm sure about.... the one on the LHS not so much... but without it the wire from the O2 sensor would be resting on a rotating front drive shaft so it looks like there is a need for them...

I'll try and get a few photos next time I'm under to report back. Might help someone out in the future. This is the part in Microcat.
