After having the dash off and cleaning up the connections behind for all the electrics, i seem to have gained a friend, now the Brake light likes to come on when it chooses, ive checked and its not losing fluid so im assuming electrical fault somewhere, it may have been wanting to come on before, but been unable to make an electrical connection.
Is the Brake light assosiated with any other electrical systems?

I know what most are but just want to clarify, can anyone help me identify the rest, and if they should work.

Ill put on a pic and a list of the lights and what i think they are (and if they work) feel free to correct.

1.Park Brake (assuming hand brake??) doesnt work.
2 and 3. Oil and Battery. Come on and go off as they should.
4. Brake Light. My new friend on and off when ever it feels like.
5 and 6. Indicators and high beam, work as they should.
7. Fuel Low/Reserve. Never been on, even when i ran out of diesel.
8 and 9. Diff lock and rear heated window. Both work.
10. Blank
11. Seatbelts?. Never worked.
12. Not a clue. Never been on.
13. Trailor connected. Dont know, not hooked up a trailor yet.
14. Blank
15,16 and 17. Lights, fog lights, glo plugs. All work properly
18. 24v system. Not got one so never been on.

Cheers, Chris

Are your brake lights flashing too?
Ignore that ..................stupid question

It's either a dodgy handbrake switch or you've disturbed some wiring when you were doing whatever you were doing behind the dash.
Not sure if it's a warning for brake pads wear, some cars have this some don't.

Most probably the second one tho :)

My brake light and parking light always come on together when the handbrake is on. (that's 4 and 12 to you). I have to push the handbrake handle right down when releasing the handbrake otherwise the lights stay illuminated even though the handbrake itself has released.
