What does that actually mean Dave, I know they are desperately in need of lubrication, would that help.
Or do I replace them
Thanks of the reply

just been underneath, in neutral with the hand brake off, there doesn't seem to be any slack on the UJ's at all, just gave the prop shaft a really good push and pull, twist etc........is there a more definitive way of testing?
Thanks evryone
Just change them.....stop playing with your and your families safety and do it!
Generally the splicer wears in the cup and if left long enough will start to wear the yoke and then kaboom a nice new look to the underside.
It's best to get them changed asap can be done with some sockets and a vice to get them out and put them back in with.
I grease mine every 3 months
In the interest of correct terminology, they are SPICER joints not splicers. Or maybe you have fat fingers.
See you have not lost any of your quick wit and repartee since I was away Tony
Look for rusty stains round the yolks.just been underneath, in neutral with the hand brake off, there doesn't seem to be any slack on the UJ's at all, just gave the prop shaft a really good push and pull, twist etc........is there a more definitive way of testing?
