This early Series 1 is at the local village show. DVLA records say it was first registered in 1945 which is obviously incorrect. Any ideas how early it is?

1948- 1950 after that the headlamps were no longer behind the grill.

Excellent thank you. It also had unusual tail lights which I’ve identified as Lucas ST51D It’s strange DVLA have it first registered in 1945. I wonder how that could happen. Any ideas?

Being the light green colour it is likely from the early end of time scale.
As for DVLA, someone thought 8 was a 5

You do get this, I had a wartime truck with some of the V5c documentation transposed ie the vehicle's weight was listed as the engine capacity & visa-versa.
I never alerted the DVLA of the error as doing so could open a can of worms
