On my series 11a 1962 there is what looks like a corroded brass plug on the engine block just below the exhaust manifold at the rear of the engine. Can anyone tell me what this is?
Many thanks

It is almost certainly a coolant drain plug.
May be a tap in some engines, and a plain plug in others.

Leave well alone unless you are parked safely at home and don't need the Landy for a week while you hunt for a new plug.

It's a nice littel brass tap on my 1964 2a.

They are lovely things!
Those were the days when the alternative to antifreeze was to drain all the water out every night, and refill it every morning..

Servicing says you should take the tap off every so often, dismantle it, grease it, and put it all back. That way it won't seize up you hope.
