 We all know that drum brakes aren't up to stopping much, least of all when you're towing. I want to pull my speedboat behind my 1960 SII but would like to upgrade to discs at the front at least. Anyone know where I can get a fairly easy-to-do-yourself upgrade kit?
Cheers.

Hi jat147, one of the forum members mentioned a front disc brake upgrade for series motors. I'll have a look round and get back.

Regards WP.

Think Rocky mountain do a kit, dont know how easy it would be to fit but would also set you back about £450 I believe!!! Bloody lot of money for an old series in my opinion but it depends on how desperate you are.

ffs ormus, its not the welsh language you are destroying its the english. the welsh language is a proper language, not like yer mishmash of an english selection of words ;)

thanks for the info, do you mean the rr axle complete with brakes attached would fit in the sII?

sorry to interupt the language debate, carry on as you were.

I'm half welsh/english so I couldn't comment:)

yes mate, fit a complete rr axle with new u bolts and bingo, you now have disc brakes ;)

as fer the language debate, i think i have already won seen as ormus is from manchester where they talk of lickle bockles ;)

  1. Spelling
  2. wrong word used where none is required
And I'm a bloody Jock who failed O Grade English:)

lickle bockles?
my youngest brother speaks like that!
i spent too many yrs in the south east, and abroad, to speak like noel gallagher.

lickle bockles?

You see I thought that that was just standard 'Yella talk' whereas the other two words were just honest errors;)

You think thats bad? Decipher this.

Al av farv parts a laag e n larm an a dra waat waan ta.

Well maintained and adjusted drum brakes dont give as lot of trouble . Would Upgrade to Series 111 Master cylinder with Serve from a scrapyard . Easier and cheaper than fitting a complete axle

message should read---- master cylinder and Servo unit-- sorry about spelling I seem to be getting like everyone else around here
