Always wanted a landy, now I have one - '96 Defender 110 TDi 300. So, what do I do in my spare time - I work on my landy (standing joke amongst my friends). At least I can fix it not like some of these other 4X4's. She started as a pickup, I've now converted to a wagon, still have to get round to putting seats in the back for my tribe (4 kids!!). I'm also currently making a roof rack and installing a long range tank (one of those 45l side tanks off a 90).............

Welcome to the forum, Wayne :)

Don't worry about those jokes from your friends: they just DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Have fun...

Yep and they keep rubbing it in! Got towed into town the other day by a Toyota  and me bragging that I drive a Toyota recovery vehicle! Seems I bought my landy with a cracked head...

Oops! oh well, you did say you have some time on your hands??????
Don't worry about being towed by a Toyota, you did say it was on tarmac so it doesn't count!

Ha ha, good point Fishface. Bad luck Wayne, your going to justify your mates comments even more though! Landy love/hate, aint'ent it great? Er, or did you mean "when I bought my Landy I must've had a cracked head"?

Nope, checked my head - no cracks, shone a torch in one ear and got my wife to check for light out the other - proof that it was the landy with the crack!! Changed the rear disks and pads today, brakes were squeeling and there was a shudder felt through the pedal. Both disks were warped. I still have some run out on the right rear disk, seems the hub has taken a smack at some stage... and had some canvas seat covers made and fitted to the front seats.

Cheers

Wayne
