Hi All

I'm new to this forum and Land Rover but have always admired them from afar.

I have just recently bought a Freelander 1.8 and the rear tail door handle has just broken when I attempted to open the door and struggled to get it open.

Is this a common problem?

Thanks

David

Hi there. Sure I've read it somewhere about door handle. Try the search function and it'll throw plenty of answers up.

tis common, have a look in the freelander section, there's been a few posts about it.

If you take the inner door card off, you can undo the three bolts and remove whats left of the handle. I favoured a 2 stage repair, 1st stick with superglue for the instant grab bit to hold everything in place then slather with araldite for strength. don't forget to rough up surfaces first to ensure good stiction.

don't bolt back until a few hours have passed, keep it in a warm place while araldite cures.
