So I picked up my series 3 last week, it's a project, I was aware when I saw the listing on the bay that it'd be rough... It is!!!
I'll get some pics when I'm at my unit and have charge on my phone.

Anyway, it needs a chassis and bulkhead, that's without doubt.

I thought I'd have a good look over it today and see what else it's gonna need...
I got as far as putting a battery on it and some fuel down the carb, it ran! I was sure it would, my mate wasn't so sure as its been sat since 2006 in a field and even the dipstick is rusty!! Having had a string of old leyland stuff I knew better..

So here begins my resto.. I'm not new to restorations, or land rovers for that matter, I've over 20years in the trade, and restored minis, minors, etc... That said, this'll be my first chassis swap!

looking forward to the piccies! like a nice series - a chassis swap is often easier than all the welding and fettling that would otherwise be required - provided your wallet allows for, er, a "few" new bolts and such !

Good luck with it:)

Welcome I'm new to it as well I bought my first series 3 about a month back and just welding it now and doing a few other jobs so I can mot it and hopefully next year put her on a new chassie enjoy
