Hello all!
Couple of months ago I saw this Freelander 1 with 2.0 TD (M47 engine) at online auction. There were couple of minutes left and I decided to bid. Well, I won the auction... I must admit that I knew "nothing" about Land Rovers at that moment. All I knew it was a rather low mileage car with a BMW engine. Of course it had some issues, because it was on sale at auction. There was squeaking noise coming from front suspension and roof liner was sagging. I fixed the noise by replacing front strut upper bearing, and attached liner with staples. Staples work until I remove the roof panel and fix it properly with new liner.
My plan for the car was to fix the issues and sell it for some profit, but after riding the car for a couple of weeks, I decided it's a keeper. I really like how it drives, especially on sand roads. Not bad fuel economy either.
As You may guess, I do all the maintenance and fixing by myself, so I'm reading the forums to gain more knowledge. Thank You all for sharing the information! I'll do my best to give back!
