I recently uploaded a photo onto here about 6 weeks ago of my new purchase, a 2002 Discovery 2 V8 facelift. It's my first ever Land Rover which is used as a second car and so far I am loving it.
I have finally got around to doing some of the small jobs to it which were required and thought I would start a thread on here to show everyone - also a good way to remind me of what I have done!
The first thing on the list was the front fog light - the one fitted had badly corroded, full of condensation and looked awful. Unfortunately I have no photo of it fitted (I forgot) however here it is after I'd taken it off. Must have been letting water in for some time.

Unfortunately it wasn't the easiest thing to do, every screw holding the corner of the bumper on had rusted and the heads stripped - someone must have tried before and given up! I used the Dremel and cut new heads and got them out that way and replaced with new.
Nice new foglight

My second job was my headlight, this too was filling with condensation. For a quick fix I have brought it into the house for a night in front of the fire and cleared it out, have refitted so will see how that goes!
Last job for the weekend was the rear step. I had originally intended to replace the hydraulic stay so it would go up and down, I hadn't really taken a proper look until today. Upon closer inspection I noticed the step was completely corroded and after banging at it with a hammer after removing the bolts, realised it was unsalvageable as you can see!
Luckily my chassis is solid and requires only rubbing down and treating in the Spring.
I am quite a perfectionist and like things looking as they were originally so this will be on my wish list.
Anyway, after a weekend of messing around (also time spent on a VW Beetle I am attempting to also restore) this is it done.
Still a few things to get done and will try and keep this updated as much as I can. Will want to sort out the wheel arches in better weather as they have been effected by the sun, will have to feel brave when that happens though!
Also, open to any suggestions you may have out there
Thanks for reading
