don't know with rangies but my jvc changer has a reset pinhole no more than 2mm i/d for when this happens to give me the cassete back,might be worth a look .
I had this happen once. In the end I gave up. Came back the next day, tried again and it came out first time and has been fine since. Bizarre! Maybe just needed a rest! ha!
