right guys due to fit a new set of tyres, and was gonna go for aggressive AT's or MT's, but when pricing set up with tyre supplier was told that MT's no good for the freelander as they'll damage drivetrain :confused:so just wanted some input before ordering as iv'e seen pics of MT's on freelanders, so presume that tyre guy is talking twallocks :confused: any info on this would be great.......thanks

If they are balanced. How the #### cam the damage the drive train!!! Ill balanced wheels regardless of tread pattern can cause excessive wear, I would guess he is talking ****. Balance is the key!

The thing with them gaylanders is with as little as 5mm in tyre diameter from front to back can pack up the drive train.

Mt's do wear faster than ats

Mt tyres shouldn't damage the drive train as long as they are rotated like any other tyre. I'm not a fan of Mt tyres on a monocoque body car as they transfer far to much tyre noise for my liking. I would think it hard to better B F Goodrich At tyres on the Freelander.

Although im now looking for a part worn to match as the spare
Cant warrant that much money to hang on the boot lol

I have been running Conti Xcontact AT on my freelander, they are supplied OE on new defenders . They are probably about as aggressive as you need on a Freelander work well in snow and offroad , they selfclean quite well in muddy conditions JMHO
