Can you fit a series 3 (late 80s) with defender mud flaps as I am very confused seeing them around.

sorry if this is a stupid question, as far as I’m aware they had different brackets but maybe not?

Defender ones have the cut out for the exhaust on the left one so wouldn't look right, try paddocks for mudflaps as i did :)

The rear mud flap brackets are also different because the crossmembers are at a different angle. I have defender rear mudflap brackets fitted to mine (the bottom of the bracket is angled rather than sitting horizontally) but I reused the original series mudflaps so I do not have the cut out for the exhaust.

The best ones which are unobtainable are series mud flaps which attaches to the rear crossmember with a larger metal bracket and then the rubber mud flap is bolted into the brackets. It was a sensible design cos you didn’t need to disturb the chassis to replace them. The paddocks craddocks are ok .

I cut the tops of my cheapies off square and fitted them on angles under the tub ahead of the crossmenber. The tops are sealed to the tub floor.. This keeps the mud out of the gap on top of the crossmember and protects it much better. Where LR put them is just wrong.
