Question?
What kind of MPG would you get out of a 1977 2,250cc Series III, Petrol and is it much worse then the Diesel?

realistically...
bout 12-15 on a good day

na wil lget about 25
td will get about 22
tdi will get about 28

now everyone will post how much better the're getting!

Apparently if you add steam to the ait intake (or something) then you will get 75 mpg. Like this claim, steam is pretty much hot air.

My Series 3 109 pickup got 15 mpg around town, and at best 20mpg on a 55mph run along A roads and motorway.

I used to get 12mpg many years ago out of a 109 petrol. But that had a fook off pto driven winch on it.

I aint got the bottle to work it out on our 72 swb s3, in case I **** me pants....but I know it aint good.
Mind you, it aint a daily driver so what the ****, its the price you pay for wanting to drive an old landy from time to time

16-24 with a weber fitted. i get only 26-27 from my S3 diesel. but the petrol is nicer to drive.

I like to think I get about 15mpg out of mine as I potter around on short journeys.

I also think I'm kidding myself :(
