davebeccles Active Member Jun 29, 2014 #1 Now's the time for all you old timers to laugh at me. How do I get the wheel thing off (blue arrow) so I can release the bolt (red arrow) to get the front off the engine????? I am trying to make it as light as possible so we can lift it out but I can't stop it spinning...........

Blackburn Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2014 #6 Is starter motor still fitted if so put spanner on nut wedge spanner on chassis and turn the engine over with the starter motor.

joe27979 Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2014 #7 or put it into a high gear to stop crank turning with handbrake on, that's how I did mine
dominicbeesley Well-Known Member Jun 30, 2014 #8 Low gear, handbrake and a gurt big spanner and FBH. Watch out when you slide it off there's a half-moon key in the shaft that is easy to drop into the sump. IIRC its at the top when the engine's at TDC on #1 which helps to not lose it...
