Just put my disco through its mot today, it failed! I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the statment 'Front indicator incorrect colour' am I looking to replace the lense for this one?

Also the same point on the other side came up on the adviseries as 'slightley discoloured'.
The tester has marked 3 points on the adviseries as 'needs attention' surley this does not mean that I need to do it in order for it to pass this time round. I will of course be picking up on the item in the coming weeks but don't want to rush to sort out everything as aloltogether I have 2 pages or items to look at!

There were also two comedy lines, 'Vehicle underside dirty' and 'Covers fitted to outer sills'

Thanks

James

Orange bulb for the indicator, advisories are just that and you can have 50 of the bugga's and still pass yer MOT.

I did try to get an orange bulb before and found that they were a different fir as the pins are not opposit as normal so did not fit.

Perhaps I did not look hard enough and must try again

as for covers fitted over sills, the bottom of the sill is still visable, leaving it ****ty underneath is a bit sneaky but yer mot tester cant move anything, if he cant see it he cant fail it.

The covers are the standard ones, so in theory every disco owner should get this as an advisory. The dirt is probably one stage on from road muck, it's not totaly caked in mud at all, because this is my everyday car.

He can refuse to test though.

not if its standard covers, you ever tried to mot mercs since say 98 upwards?? fooking plastic covers everywhere hiding everything from sills to brake pipes.
i remember doing one and when i drove it out the bay after passing it the brakes failed reversing it back inot the car park.

Thanks nick, I did look again for the bulbs, but the orange ones have the pins orietated differently so you can't fit the wrong ones.

buy a thingy of orange paint then, yer can get bulb paint, i done mine when i put a set of clear lenses in my cars years ago.
