Can a car pass an MOT with all but the drivers seat taken out ?
I have a trusty old freelander I’d like to use as a small van.

Shouldn't be an issue, all our Defender generators have their front passenger seats removed and we have no problems with them going through their MOT every year.

You shouldn't have a problem with the MOT. However you might get an advisory saying the seats are removed at the time of the test. I know of one occasion, when the vehicle was noted as having no seats at the time of test, and a re-test was needed, after the seats were refitted.
It's up to the person carrying out the MOT.
