really ive heared something about this from a couple of classic restorers i know it sttarted as a petition asking for mots to be either scrapped or reduced to evry 3 years for cars built before 1960 as anything still on the road at that age is generally maintained to near perfect condition

i havent heared anything official about it but hope it happens same as i hope the 30 year rolling tax exemption gets put back

Ive read they (vosa) are looking into doing this along with a load of other changes that come into effect in a couple of months, not sure when or if the not exempt bit comes in.
Dont believe the bit about pre 1960 being perfect condition either

It's under discussion/been proposed. Personally I think it is a bad idea. Most of us will and do maintain our trucks well. But there are tossers out there who don't and would happily drive accidents waiting to happen or are just plain incompetent!

there is talk about mots for newer motors to be relaxed to every 2 years again I think this is bad idea as lots of drivers never open their bonnet or check tyres or anything else in between mots

I also think it is a bad idea, it will bring out vehicles that have previously been off the road because they couldn't pass the MOT.

i dont think cars like that would stand a chance as the coppers will still have the powers of roadside inspection and will tow the fekker away and crushed :rolleyes:
