Hi everyone

I have got my mot coming up soon and i have a couple of questions.

1 The headlights have been replaced with sealed beam unit they are proberly not aligned correcty will the mot guy fail this ? or adjust this ?

Can it be done myself if so whats the best way ?

2 The windscreen is cracked drivers side right at the botton of the screen about 1 inch long will this fail ?

1 - yes but easy to adjust

doesnt the haynes manual show a rough way to align them ? which is usually enough to get it through the MOT

and some windscreen repair places do free repairs, am sure their will be some catch thou

If the headlamps are out then you have no chance of getting them right, be nice to the tester and he should adjust them for you if the adjusters are not fooked.

If the crack is not within the swept area of the wipers then it's a pass, it don't obstruct yer vision.
 
screens are cheap and there are loads around. I'd change the screen rather than get it repaired. I have heard that if you get it repaired free by your insurance company they can say its a claim...worth bearing this in mind depending on your policy, if its a classic it won't matter!
