Hello,

Managed to bend the front cross member on the Series 3 today, doing some daft things. Will a bent cross member cause a failure?

Depends how bad or if it's changed the geometry of the chassis - the one under my gearbox is absolutely twisted to all buggery and I was worried MOT man said it looked proper but got upset about a small hole on the underside of the chassis where a rivnut had been ripped out...

Don't think its bent the chassis at all. Cut it out and weld a new one in then?

You may have had to cut out one day if the steering relay was well n truly siezed in !!!
