Sounds like an oxymoron-"reliable Range Rover"-but I'm serious.
I've wanted one for years and the reliability issue has always put me off.I'm now in the fortunate position of being able to buy one up to £40k.That should get me something decent shouldn't it?
Reliability is more important to me than economy but I'm not going to go daft and buy a supercharged V8.I'd like a 4.4 TD model or even a petrol version if the running costs won't force me to prostitute the wife.(that's a thought, but no,that would cost me even more by the time I've paid the punters.)
Any particular model have a worse record than another or is it pot luck with all of them?
Have things improved under the ownership of TATA?What should I look out for?
I'd be grateful for any feedback.
Thanks.

New ones are very reliable, it's the P38's that gave LR the poor reputation. Get te diesel though as the BMW engine is very reliable...

If you're looking for a reliable RR, as above, try to avoid the P38 ones unless it is a later model Diesel. All the rest are fairly good. However, I have heard the best things about the TDV8 models (past few years).

TDV8 is supposed to be the best, most reliable.. but alot of people say that Disco 4 is the best vehicle that LR make albeit not a RR..:scratching_chin:
