Ok. . . .tinytdi has clocked up 155,476 on his gaylander, i'm on 75,000,,, tdi 3dr auto. . .wots yours done ,un who can beat tiny . . . .un say wot model. . . .:) :) :)

we have an S plate 1.8 come in to us every year for a service (earlier when it breaks).

Last time it was in, about 3 months ago, it had 188,000 on it, the other lads in the workshop told me it's had 4 engines, 2 gearboxes and an IRD!!

I worked on it last time and it was in for overheating (well there's a change) and SRS light on. Overheating fault was cos the cooling fans didn't work, probably why it killed so many engines.

No the only big bill has been for the fuel pump in the tank.Thought my goose was cooked at the time though as the engine managment light came on and everything died.Had to go to main dealer for that so it set me back the best part of 500 notes.Other than that shes been very good to me just the odd little thing which ive been able to do myself.:)

Dats funny ,when ma warranty ran out ,the day after the rear fuel pump went tits, well it went on fer 2weeks really and then went tits, Lr were useless, sorted it myself in the end. . .thats when i decided to learn bout new doosel technology un fings. . . .:) :) :)

Aye mine chucked its end in while LZ wer off air ..... NO warning ...just refused to start:(

But thanks to mings info on here I went straight to it;)

250.squid fer a new one made me eyes water a bit:eek:

92k on my owld bus:D

R-reg Freelander XEDI Camel Trophy - 104,000m
02-reg Freelander TD4 GS - 48,000m.

Just changed all the transmission bearings & two CV joints on the Camel, but other than that they have never missed a beat. Most reliable cars I've ever had.

... and I don't even bother to touch wood any more when I say that.

Cheers

Blippie

Ours is V-Reg and has only 23k miles on the clock.
Can't verify that mileage as we only bought it 5 months ago, but has stamps in the service book upto 21k with a cam-belt change at 18k.

Well I have a '98 2ltr Xedi and to date she has done 120275 ish miles.
Loads of things gone wrong with her but what the hell :D No ones perfect!

That has to be a record. LRM magazine had a project freelander with about 130k and two gearboxes in its lifetime. they vamped it into the G4 model and re-worked valves and ports

Guess alot of it comes down to the driver and the service history or lack of in some cases.

You are right there are alot of 1.8 with no dramas.I service mine once a year and thats it,I also use K SEAL wich I swear by.(It works for my hangovers to!)The only drama that ive had was when I was on holiday and had to much rum and smashed my tail window. And the other is was when I drove in to a yuppie arshole in a Porsche.Landie was fine....poor Porsche.I live way up Norht in Scotland so we often trek down South do London,Devon,Jersey all in once.Love my Hippo.

Hope I havent jinxed myself now!
