guys after undoing the flange that holds the down pipe to the exhaust manifold on my 2 1/4 petrol , iv descovered the pipe does sit in the manifold ok but the flange doesnt seem to keep it gas tight still leaking? i think if u tugged downwards on the pipe it would pull loose a little..? any ideas?

Have ye tried an exhaust sealin' paste/compound... like fire gum? or this stuff....
