Right i have got me axle in bits! and..............i need a half shaft uj:mad: i also need to replace me swivel ball:mad: (i have one in me shed:D ) and me lock stop had been welderd into the hole:mad:  :(  , should i just cut me losses and fit a second hand disco axle to it? me uncles mate is gonna convert his series to disco axles and can make the requires plates etc.. what do you think i should do?

i've got the exact same problems with my front axle plus every oil seal is leaking!! i've just got all the bits to rebuild it and a disco diff to go in at the same time, its got to be easier than converting a disco axle.

would it be possible to take the disco diff, half shafts, swivels and hubs and fit to the series axle casing?? or are the halfshafts too long??

i wanna go to disco axles to give me a wider track and give me better steering lock(more space til ye hit the springs) i am currently doing my axle(just poped in for a **** and a cuppa tea) i am gonna have to wait til tomorow to get the uj but i can fill the rest of my time cleaning and painting the stuff thats going back on so it will be nice and shiney for the mud

ok then i now have the painting done and finnished the new bits are waiting to go on

BUSTER!!!!!!!! need advice when you did your swivelballs how did you get the halfshaft bearing out without fookin it?

Ah just pulled the whole thing out in a wonner G-spot. It came out real easy... ah'm presumin' yer talkin' about yer cv joint and shafts;) :D

cheers fer that doobs best i get me brass drift out then
Bust dunt yours have a bearing at the back of the ball by the flange (axle case end?)

later axles look so much easier to do than series ones...... the 5/8 nuts n bolts that hold the swivel ball on a series are a bastard to undo!

have looked through paddocks parts list and that don't list a bearing so it must just rely on the cv holding it up...............
