Now I've had my first LR2 (11Reg) for 3 weeks. I noticed when the outside temperature is low (9C) or when it's raining and cold, the windscreen
starts get misting (or partially misting) when I'm on AUTO climate
control mode - temperature set to 18C, aircond is on, blowing is automatic.

I went to the local dealer and was told that the AUTO mode is only for a guide and I'll still need to switch on the blowing mode manually (blowing to windows and make the blowing speed higher) or switch on the windscreen
heating.

I'm a bit disappointed with this. The manual does recommend to use AUTO mode to avoid misting windows! My BMW 116d has never had this problem when it's under AUTO mode.

Is this normal or it's something wrong with the auto climate control? Thanks.

I'm trying to remember all the buttons on the HeVac unit, make sure you havent got ECON turned on or anything like that.

With aircon switched on and auto on, i really dont think the car should mist up.

I may stand corrected though.

afaik, auto only adjusts the temperature to match what you have selected, and will therefore turn aircon compressor on and off as necessary to achieve target temperature.

it would therefore be necessary to take manual control to force a demist

Thanks to all the replies above. It seems the reality is close to what Optimus Prime said. It's just that the manual is rather confusing: in the manual it says the recommended mode is "AUTO" to prevent window misting...
