Hi All,

Freelander 1 TD4 SE 2005

Currently diagnosing.an A/C issue with it not working even after re-gas which lead me to checking fuses and I noticed this fuse is missing which seems to be engine management?

I've not had any issues with the car engine wise, so either this was a cover up for an underlying issue which is yet to come or it's not needed on my year or an oversight. Can anybody please advise before I re-fit a fuse.

Thanks

Is it fuse 5, check the diagram on the lid to confirm.

If it's fuse 5, then it's for the FBH, which has been removed to stop it running.

If the missing fuse is F4, then that's for the AC, and should be a 15A fuse.

However it looks like it's F3 that's missing, which is actually supposed to missing on the TD4.

Fuse 3 is the missing one.

Some vehicles have unused fuse slots.
I can't find fuse 3 on the Td4 circuits at the moment.

Yes I could see it was fuse 3. Was trying to find it in the circuits but, as you say, TD4 don't have a F3!! Thanks.

Going back to the original post, best test is to listen, with engine running, when you press the air con button you should hear the air con clutch click in. Make sure you are not on demist first as that puts air con on when selected.

If it is not clicking and system pressure is good it is worth checking the clutch electro magnet and the pressure switch.

Thanks Andy. I am tempted to test the AC fan relay as-well I am wondering is it okay to bridge the littelfuse (FL5) to check the fans spin up?

Also I notice a very slight engine noise and rpm change when AC switch is pressed, though no click can be heard so will check AC clutch next.
