Hi all, Merry Christmas!

So I'm sat here 1.5 sheets to the wind (I love Christmas dinner) and wondering...is there any point whatsoever in fitting an Ashcroft ATB rear diff to a non-CDL'd '03 D2?

I have this idea to make my Disco a real Q-car, by adding bits that make it unstoppable, but without the whole 2" lift look. But am I right in thinking that without CDL all power will just go to the axle doing least work (i.e. the front would just spin out)?

Is it a case of 2 x ATBs or nothing?

Yes, this has a little bit of a wish list query about it as I've soooo much to fork out on first to get the house sorted, but it would just be good to get some opinions from you good folks

without a cdl all the drive would go to the front axle if a front wheel lost traction, you could fit a cdl and 1 locker in the rear

Thanks James. So that is as I thought. I'd been through my 3rd Edison Tom Sheppard but just couldn't quite clarify that additional atb + TC - CDL calculation.
Hmmm...should have looked harder for a '04 shouldn't I

The only thing I would add is that the lack of a CDL is slightly less of an issue if yours is an auto.

Thanks Si...not being a great fan of autos, that's that one out.

James, I think I'm coming around to the idea that TC is just fine for what I need , as I say, I had to ask, but I'm thinking now there are bigger priorities...and as I love the thing as it is anyway [pulley squeak and all] why bother.

Enjoy the break and Happy New Year!!
