My name is Sergio. Im from Barcelona. Im new in forum. I have Defender 110 TD5.
Im trying to fix my engine but I need to know the wide measure (between side and side) of the cylinder head in order to cut
valves to the right tolerance measure.
The story is that time ago, mechanic made seat valves and made flat de cylinder head block side, but I don´t know how much.
Now when I opened the engine cause I have problems with smoke, I realized that measure between flat head valve and the surface of the head cylinder are out of tolerance. Im afraid hydraulic tappets are not working properly.
It should be for intake between 0,55 and 0,82 mm. and for exhaust between 0,54 and 1,35 mm. Some of the intake measure 1mm. plus what was take out from surface of the cylinder head.
Also if someone has a valve I would like to know the longitud in order to compare with mine. I think he didnt cut them but I woul like to be sure.
