Hi. Recently bought a Defender 2006 XS TD5.
I used to have a transit van and I wanted a vehicle that was high up, could put my dirty dogs in the back without feeling too guilty and maybe a bit of rubbish.
I like classic cars and this vehicle seemed to have everything I wanted. Quirky and quality I think plus as previously mentioned the high up driving position.
I like the idea of the high/low gearbox and locking diff, the heated front screen and Ive got aircon and half leather, excellent. Not a lot of them about.
I have to say I dont find it easy to drive. The gearbox is a bit like an old truck and you cant drive it fast which isnt a problem but for a 2006 vehicle I found it disappointing. But overall I'm happy with it.
