The weekend of the 28th and 29th of April it will be the 80th Anniversary of the Mass Trespass on Kinder Scout by walkers. Plus there is a Jane Tomlinson walking event in Hope Valley and Casleton area. So there will be bloody hundreds of walkers around in Derbyshire and the Peaks

May be best not to plan any events around the area at that time,

truth is.......if it weren't for the original bobblies there probably wouldn't be any rights of way off the tarmac of ANY sort.

Ah...now there is a whole new area of debate!

truth is that I believe that most of the walkers I have met would happily work together with us....

The RA is a different matter though. Since they are constitutionally comitted to eliminating anyone from the countryside whose political beliefs are not aligned with their own.

The walkers are ok... it is the political lobbying group (RA) who are the cause of the problems.

Which is the crux of nearly every group you're ever likely to meet!

Most folk, whatever they're doing, are normal, well-meaning people. Some people get so attached to something that they simply can't understand why someone else wants to do something differently and dislike other groups. A minimum of people have enough bile in their system and time on their hands to 'do' ****e behind the scenes to try and stop others doing stuff they don't like. There isn't really any way you can win against the last lot.

but there are ways to convince the others that 4x4 users are also 'normal' people .. we drive properly, we stop for them, we help out when they need paths mending and all that tread-lightly stuff .. whenever we meet a bobble hat we should be polite and reasonable ... Hopefully they'll meet more decent 4x4's than morons ...

The mass trespass of Kinder Scout was a notable act of willful trespass by ramblers. It was undertaken at Kinder Scout, in the Peak District of Derbyshire, England on 24 April 1932, to highlight that walkers in England and Wales were denied access to areas of open country

Will we ever see a mass trespass 4x4 event ?? And drive all the lanes we have been denied access to ???

It's worked for one group to open up the country side more for them

I think it time to make stand, get 400 4x4's together and drive every lane they have TRO

400 4x4s driving lanes with TROs will get 400 4x4s scrapped and change nothing, except to sway public opinion the wrong way.
