Hi. I've got a 1976 Series III '88 hardtop with MAP freewheeling hubs. One seems to have been put on the wrong way by previous owner (the arrow lines up to Free but then only rotates anticlockwise to empty space rather than clockwise to Locked) so I'm taking them off to re-set + renovate.

I've got the MAP manuals from the forums but they refer to an oil filler screw on the side of the casing which mine doesn't have. Oil has come out when taking it apart but I can't see the re-fill point to top it back up again when I put them back. Any ideas?

Thanks

I once had a set of the automatic version, horrible things and I took them off when I started doing 4x4 trials. Lubrication though was oil from the axle/hub.

+1 to lube via axle. Don't grease them or they hydraulic lock and won't engage. Just oil and then top the axle / swivel up.

Thanks - great advice and timing. I was debating whether to grease or not to grease when putting them back together tomorrow.
