Hi All,
just had a chap look at all the oil lashing out of the Heap and give me a diagnosis. Basically its an engine out job as the back crankshaft oil seal and gasket need replacing, as does the front timing cover oil seal, rocker gasket and breather pipe stuff. Clutch is also pretty much on its last legs, and the oil leaking onto it apparently won't have helped the situation.
Been looking thru the haines bible and am getting a bit edgy as it seems that there are a whole load of other things that may need renewing while I'm at it, such as the seal on the fly wheel (if i read it right) - but just not knowledgable enough to know how far to take it or decide what does and does not need renewing. Don't want to order stuff and find i should have gotten others bits and pieces as well.
Can anyone think of anything else connected with the list of stuff i've listed that i should also be looking at?
Also read somewhere (and can't find the info now) that there are variations on the clutch on a series III - is this the case? Mines an 83 model. What bits do i need to get to renew the whole thing?
Wheres the best place to pick up the bits i need?
