I have heard that removing the egr valve (done this, easy job..) and exhaust centre box increases power+ and improves fuel economy.Without egr i have noticed slight increase in power,i would imagine removing centre exhaust would increase the noise....would anyone know if this would be legal for the mot.

As long as it passes its smoke test and it's not too noisy it's fine. Mines done and it sails thru!

b. assess subjectively the effectiveness of the silencer in reducing exhaust noise to a level considered to be average for the vehicle

Reason for rejection!

b. a silencer in such a condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the vehicle is clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar vehicle with a silencer in average condition

Mate down the pub tell you that!
