Norton is a resource hog, always has been. Go with Avast, it's free.My Norton Quickscan showed no new threats and I ain't doing a long scan as I'd die before it finished and it tends to get bogged down and go into a loop anyway!
Everything that bloke said in his reply is wrong. Also, it's amazing how many NASA engineers are on the interwebz. NASA's wage bill must account for about 95% of the US GDP.Oops! according to https://www.quora.com/Is-Avast-a-safe-free-antivirus-program-and-is-it-good
Avast is now itself Malware! So I think I'll stick to paying for one of the trad ones! Also I don't have a Mac.
I have Ubuntu as a dual boot on this rig. Don't use it nearly as much as I used to. Best thing about most Linux distros is they'll run on two resistors and a piece of string where Windows will bsod if the wind changes direction.I don't use Windows anymore (been alinux user for years) but avast is still ok, just don't tick all the boxes, only go for the basic AV protection and you won't go far wrong.
I'm a Ubuntu fan too. If you've only got a small/old setup then you can customise it to fit your needsI have Ubuntu as a dual boot on this rig. Don't use it nearly as much as I used to. Mate of mine that does tech support for a major corp once told me, "the only people that pay for anti virus are those that need it".I'm a Ubuntu fan too. If you've only got a small/old setup then you can customise it to fit your needs
Oh and AV is much less of an issue if you know what you're about
