Dear all,

Had damp carpet in drivers footwell at weekend. loads of antifreeze in liquid so I've just picked up some o rings to replace on the heater this weekend.

But, Yesterday & this morning its missing on a couple of cylinders on start up, or if left for a length of time.

Will initially start fine for a minute and then will be as lumpy as John Merrick's head for the next couple (some dark, fuel smelling smoke from exhaust while like this)then clears its throat and away, sweet as a nut?

It has used some water, I put this down to heater o rings. Checked oil colour/smell and inside oil filler for signs of condensation or condensation and found nowt.

Try to be gentle with me as I seem to be almost constantly addressing issues on it lately.

Kind regards,
Foultrousers.

if you are in need of a quick fix for o rings bypass the heater at the bulkhead inside engine bay, this will stop water disapearing!

has the car overheated? i would check plugs and leads first and take it from there

Gav & Andy,

Its never overheated and I changed front pipes/cat on the exhaust two weeks ago. I posted about the state of one oxygen sensor threads, complaining they are made of monkey metal, but it cleaned up & went back in ok. I imagined if it was a Lambda sensor it would be like this all the time because they normally just fail completely when they go?

Thanks for the guidance, I'll let you know what I find tomorrow.

Best regards,
Foultrousers.
