I've fit an older Defender box with the square drive speedo output (which I think takes the speeometer transducer). Except this is in a Discovery 2 which doesn't need it.

Does anyone happen to know if I can just blank it over with some tiger seal, or does it require the speedo sensor to keep it aligned so that it doesn't destroying itself (speedo sensors are about £30, which is almost doubling the cost of what I paid for the box...). Or does anyone know if leaving it open is likely to cause issues? I'm not really sure how that part of the box is assembled to make an informed decision.
