Can any one please shed some light.
The Discovery 3 has started whining from the front, sounds like drivers side. Makes no difference if it is in gear, rolling etc it does however stop when turning right. Would a wheel bearing or something similar be to blame?.
Thank you.

Nsf drive shaft is a favourite as the gaiter tends to split.
Wheel bearings dont last forever either.

If it makes the noise when moving, then it could be wheel bearings. However if it does it when stationery, then it's more likely to be PS pump or alternator, or one of the pulleys on the drive belt.

I have just had it jacked up. A little bit of play on the o/s wheel, side to side but not top to bottom?.

Lots of wheel bearings dont seem to have any play even though they are making a noise, even as far back as the disco 2 models.
