hi all got a brc lpg system with 2x 36l underslung tanks but only offside tank filling so started dismantling nearside tank, dropped it down on jack but when disconnecting inlet or outlet pipes gas escaping as expected but does not seem to be stopping so nipped back up till tomorrow is this normal as i thought the solenoids would have stopped this:confused: any help/advice gratefully received cheers lads and lasses

as you said the solenoids should of shut it off, i'm not sure but i reckon you'll have to just vent it off and replace the solenoid

there is normally a valve to turn the tanks off(there is on each of mine) you should hear the soenoid click when it goes onto gas.

disconnect other solenoid wire and run it on gas till it stops then it should be empty. there may be a bit of vapour in the tank still tho!

i took mine out with gas in.disconnect the line in well ventolated area.when gas is out of pipework take out weather its got gas in or not.so long as ignition off no gas will come out the tank.

right got tank off today and it is empty but looking down inlet elbow appears to be some kind of non return valve thats collapsed but cant get tank collar off yet as someone borrowed my allen keys and hasnt returned them yet and they aint in tonite great init anyway anybody had this b4 [taken the collar off] plus wheres best for parts cheers bri

i'm sure you can get replacement valve/fuel sender units on fleebay, dunno what sort you got or need tho

had alook on fleebay several different types and sizes around 50 quid but still need allen keys back damned kids
