ive got a 3.9 efi disce running a brc lpg conversion today the engine cut out on me on the way to work while running on gas and wouldnt start again untill id cranked the engine to death done it again on the way home. if if was on the petrol id look for a fueling problem such as blocked fuel filter or vacuum leak as this is what is seems like to me but ive got no clue with the lpg so any suggestion would be great?
 
I am lead to believe that all LPG conversations (saves for special builds) start on petrol then switch to gas either automatically at running temp, or by pressing a button on the dash.

So the not starting would be due to a fault in the petrol side. Check amp (to see if the heat is affecting it) coil, dizzy cap and arm etc.
 
Cranked to death isn't an option on mine, discovered the fuel pump has jossed it, diagnosed by holding in the LPG button and letting it start on gas.
As if I haven't got enough to do on the bassa.

PS, why is it stalling?
 
How old is the system. Check all the valves, Especially the ones controlling the flow from tank/s.. Is your engine servicing up to date? And when was the gas system last set up?

LPG needs a perfect engine setup to run.
 
Found the problem and it was a stupid one. the heater pipes to the vapourizer had been routed over the engine above the filler cap and the water was low so the vapourizer wasnt heating up enough so when it switched over to gas it froze the engine with cold gas hence the stalling and why it was so hard to start, so i rerouted them and a bit of tinkering so rather than the pipe runing offf two t-peices from the heater circuit they now run from two elbow on one side of the heater circuit so shouldnt have this problem again. Oh and i topped up the water hehe!!

Yep that is how I installed mine from the outset and I have never had frozen vapourisor. People will tell you it is incorrect to do it this way but the only real downside I can think of is that the engine takes a bit longer to reach optimum temperature.
