I have a V8 D2 that I've only had a few weeks. It's been gas converted for many years, but it's a mixer system and I've been advised by a couple of people that the Thor should have a proper sequential multipoint system. After a couple of backfires and past bad experience of mixer systems I have decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to a Romano multipoint system.
The problem is that my trusted LPG installer reports that the car runs like a dog on petrol, so he's not happy to start work until we can fix this. I wouldn't really know as I've only done a few miles on petrol in all the time I've had it. We're trying to find out what the problem could be. So far the possibilities are:
1. Damaged air flow meter as a result of backfiring
2. Faulty petrol pump
3. Adaptive settings in ECU screwed up
4. Summat else
Any ideas where to start?
