Lower link bushes renewal ...

Usin' poly bushes.
Quite an easy job to do really.
( If ye have the OEM bushes then ye'll need to burn the rubber out and then haksaw the metal sleeve to remove it, or use a big press.)
In my case the lower link arms I was usin' had been fitted with the Polybush kit so wasn't too bad to do.

Here's how ah did it...
first ah loosened the big nut at the back..



Jacked the bus up and put an axle stand under the chassis and another under the axle...



Then ah loosened the nut and bolt at the axle end then removed the wheel...



Next ah took the big nut, washers and bush of the chassis end...







Back to the axle end... ah took the nut off..



.. removed the bolt and usin' a pry bar removed the lower link.

Ah removed the old bushes from the donor by knockin' the metal sleeve out with a suitable drift (a big bolt)...





then stuck a screwdriver in to free the old bushes..





once the bushes were out, ah cleaned, sanded, primed and painted the lower links...





next ah smeared some grease around the axle end hole, put one half of the bushes in, flipped it over, put the other half in, stuck a little bit of grease on the metal sleeve and pushed that in...



On the chassis end ah pushed the metal sleeve into the big bush..



stuck the big washer on then the bush and sleeve...



Just a piccy of the old one and the donor....



Ah didn't really have to, but changed the triangular plate as well...

Then ah stuck the lower link arm through the chassis mount and put the other half of the bush on then the big washer and the nut (loose)...



then pushed the other end in and tightened it up
(if the bracket is too tight for the bushes, give each side a couple of small chaps with a hammer to open it up a bit) ...



Tighten up the other end...



After that stick the wheel back on, take out the axle stands and that'sabout it...
