evening all.

hopefully you can help me with my td4 freelander.

when i turn on the ignition (but not start) i can hear the fuel pump by the rear wheel priming, this goes on for over a minute befor it cuts out.and does this every time.

if i then start it the pump seems to be priming all the time,

i took the fl to my local garage and on their autologic it said there was low fuel pressure faults logged.but is there any way to tell if it's the fuel pump by the rear wheel or the low pressure sensor by the front wing??

many thanks for any help you can give

my guess would be rear pump. . . . . .but the best way to find out is to disconnect fuel line on engine pump [before it go's in] and turn on ignition [yes i know its a doozle] it should **** out with no foam. . . .if this is good then reconnect and then take off output of engine pump and repeat. . . .again it should **** out with no foam. . . . .however it could be an intermittent problem . . . . . .both pumps are derived from the same circuit [fuel pump relay] should take from ignition on about 12-20 seconds of running and then stop , pressure switch is maintained. . . . . .also a bad joint can suck air and stop the pressure building up. . . . . . . . but think you'll find rear pump has gone weak. . . . . .hope this helps Earthling :) :) :)

many thanks for the advice ming, i will give it a go tomorrow :)

oh yeah if it is the pump is it better to buy a pattern one or genuine?

thanks again
