Hi guys, newbie here, first post!

Lost the last key for my Freelander last weekend and i need advice. Contacted Landrover about getting a key and they said it would take over a week to get one so i asked was there any other way and they gave me a keycode which i took to a local locksmith who made up a key but it didnt work. So at this stage it seems that the locks have been changed at some stage. Next step was to break in to it and remove the ignition cylinder which took time but i got it out and had a key made up to suit. So now the issue is the immobiliser. Would i be right in think that even if the locks were changed that the immobiliser wouldnt have been changed or touched from new? If i take my new keys to the Landrover garage will they be able to programme them for me or will they give me a code to program them with locally? Can i or do i need to somehow bypass the immobiliser? Any help greatly appreciated, i know theres a wealth of knowledge in here!

You can't just cut a plain key blank to suit the locks. The ignition key (should)contains a transponder that communicates with the immobiliser system so your new key will need to be coded by the dealer.
