hi i have a 1.8i t reg 99 freelander 50th anniversary hardtop. it has developed a intermitant fault, that happens when u try to accelarate it just holds all the power back and goes no-where. will be fine for a little while then u press the gas again and nothing, almost seems as if its been told to hold the power back and goes all juddery. if you take your foot off the gas the car is fine and ticks over lovely. im lost please help

My 2000 (X) V6 used to do exactly the same thing. Went back to the stealers 6 times (4 times they said there was nothing wrong). Eventually they changed the ECU - thankfully it was under warranty!
I hope your problem is not the same - could be expensive.

just wondering if there could be a little blockage in ur in tank fuel filter, causing a slight lack of fuel supply

hi thanks for that i will recommened it to the garage it goes in friday ? also im going to suggest the camshaft breather/filter as well ? hopefully they will pick these up on the system ?

On my V6 one of the probs was the Throttle Body - apparently they suffer from oil contamination. I don't know if its the same on the 1.8, but it might be worth checking.
