Looking for some advice on my 1992 defender 110, it has a 200 tdi in it.

It have a lack of power in most gears. The only gear I can get it to move in is 1st & 2nd in low box and even at that I have to slowly build the revs up. Outside of this, it just revs out and doesn’t move.

It’s like the clutch has been slipping but there’s no smell of clutch off it.

It has been sitting idol for some time (3 years). Recently I replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders. The clutch does seem a little high. Just bleeded the clutch, The engine idols fine and turbo spins up.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated greatly.

It does sound very clutch ...
In high ratio it doesn't move at all right ?
Can you lift one wheel of the ground and does that turn when in gear ?

When I lift one wheel up it spins on its own although not if I shift up to second gear. It also doesn’t free wheel for long once you press in the clutch

I think you either need a mechanic, or to start from the very beginning.

Is it not moving from lack of power or something is binding, ie can you push the car even a few feet? do not forget even with handbrake on they can rock quite a bit.

Sounds like pushrod problem either wrong one in slave or MC one needs adjusting

What was the clutch like before the vehicle was parked up?

If it was on the way out, it is probably knackered.

If not, it is possible that the friction plate of the clutch has rusted on to the splines of the input shaft of the gearbox, and then moved a little bit, and seized again, so that it is holding the pressure plate up off the flywheel, in which case you won't have much drive.
If that is the case, plenty of what would usually be considered clutch abuse, hard up and down on the pedal, and revving it up and dumping the clutch on it, may free up the friction plate.

As the other option is a knackered clutch, you don't have much to lose.
