Hi,

So I was driving to Manchester last night after work, I come off the motorway and my 2001 TD5 just loses power and will only get upto 15/20 miles an hour with #### loads of smoke out the exhaust. No warning lights, it has fuel but it was on red. It starts perfectly, it's just when you start to rev, it has minimum power. Fuel related? If anyone can give me a hand that would be smashing. Cheers

Chris

What colour smoke? Black smoke would most likely indicate a problem with the turbo or intercooler pipes, blue smoke would suggest oil is being burned, white smoke would suggest unburnt diesel, probably injector problem.

White can also be HGF:eek:

Start with the easy / cheap stuff, as you ran the fuel really low you may have pulled crap into the filter, change that and see if it's any better.
